Abstract
The Federal Council of Churches organized its Committee on the Conscientious Objector under its Department of International Justice and Goodwill in 1941. The Committee was interested in all aspects of conscientious objection, especially religious life in Civilian Public Service camps. Among the Committee's projects was the organizing of a program of visitation to CPS camps.

The Keep America Out of War Congress was founded in 1938 (as the Keep America Out of War Comittee), by several leading peace organizations. The Congress was to pursue a joint, minimum six-point peace program. It was formed in 1942 to protest the Austin-Wadsworth legislative bills and similar measures, which proposed that American women be drated into a civilian workforce for the duration of World War II.
